Raises, Rights & Respect: the sentiment behind these words led to the formation of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) District 925. Combining the ideas of the women’s movement with those of the labor movement, 925 activists have organized fellow office workers, engaged in collective bargaining and pursued legislation favorable to their interests. In the process, they challenged pre-existing work relationships and achieved notable successes.
