Since the end of World War II, the Detroit Labor Day Parade has been the largest labor parade in Michigan. As early as 1915, it drew crowds that lined the streets (left). By 1956 a variety of labor organizations including the Laundry Workers International Union (right) attended the event while tens of thousands of people watched. Today, the parade remains a popular Detroit tradition.
