(5010) Lumber Industry, Centralia, Washington, 1910s

An exterior view of the Roderick Hotel in Centralia, Washington. The hotel served as local IWW hall in 1919 after the first was destroyed by a mob.

The back of the photograph notes “Ralph Chaplin,” presumably in reference to the artist and author, though it is unknown whether or not he is one of the men in the photograph or that this photograph was featured in Chaplin’s book “The Centralia Conspiracy."
