This photograph originally appeared in the August, 1970 issue of AFSCME's magazine, the Public Employee. It was captioned, "AFSCME Local 172's entry in the Petunia Festival Parade rolls down the street in Dixon, Illinois before a crowd estimated at 50,000. Local members Pat Welch and William Paris ride the float, along with a group of young people." The parade took place July 5, 1970.
