The Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO) first performed in 1887 and disbanded in 1910. A second iteration of the DSO then grew out of the efforts of ten women who raised money for a concert season beginning on February 26, 1914. These records consist of program from the variety of Detroit Symphony Orchestra performances over the years, including the first concert in 1914. The DSO not only performs regular subscription concerts and special concerts each year, but also a series of Young People's Concerts, school concerts, Michigan and national tour concerts, free concerts, mid-season festivals, as well as the summer Meadow Brook Music Festival.
