(2855) Air Pollution, Tugboat, Detroit River, Michigan, 1970

Smoke bellows out from a tugboat as it makes it’s way up the Detroit River. Part of a series.

Photographer’s note: “I crouched near the open door of a helicopter, taking a picture to go along with a story on air-pollution. I kept telling the pilot to go lower. Finally he told me that if we went any lower, we might choke on the smoke.”
