(28841) Political Campaigns, John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Detroit, 1960/1968

Composite view of Senators John and Robert Kennedy as they campaign for President in Detroit's Cadillac Square. The right portion of the image was taken on Labor Day, September 5, 1960. The left side was taken on May 15, 1968, shortly before Robert Kennedy was assassinated.

Note: This is a composite photo created by Tony Spina. The original images were taken 8 years apart, from the same vantage point, using the same camera, at the same time of day. The images, fused as one, form one of the most memorable and poignant pictures of his career. The location was later renamed Kennedy Square after the assassination of President Kennedy.
