Crowds along Woodward Avenue take one last look at the giant American Flag that adorned the J.L. Hudson Department Store to commemorate Flag Day, Detroit, Michigan.

Photographer’s Note: “The J.L. Hudson Company was understandably proud when it unfurled the world’s largest flag on the Woodward Avenue side of the building on Armistice Day, November 11, 1923. It was Updated in 1960 to add stars for Alaska and Hawaii. It is now kept at the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, DC.”
