Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church serves one of Detroit's oldest parishes and is located at the corner of Porter and Sixth Streets in the Corktown neighborhood. The orange brick and limestone church was completed in 1866, fashioned in the Gothic Revival Style by Irish architect Patrick Keely.

The rectory is located at 1050 Porter Street in the Corktown neighborhood of Detroit. It was built of red brick in the Romanesque style by the prominent Detroit Architectural firm Mason and Rice in 1886.

The event was shot by Detroit News photographers, but never published. It was presumably taken in anticipation of the upcoming game on October 11, 1931 at the University of Detroit Stadium between the Tipperary Hurlers, Ireland's champions, and a Detroit squad hand selected by James J. Murphy, head of the Gaelic Athletic Association.

Known as Smigus Dygus, or in America as Dygus (Switching) Day, the custom dictates that on Easter Monday young unmarried girls may be doused with water and switched lightly with willow sticks. The water represents fertility, for both the land and the woman. The young lady above, decidedly modern in her thinking, has reversed roles with the young man.
