 <title>(30611) Taft-Hartley 14(b) Repeal</title>
 <link>https://reuther.wayne.edu/node/10791</link>
 <description>&lt;p&gt;In 1965, labor urged newly elected democrats to repeal section 14(b) of the Taft-Hartley Act. 14(b) allowed states to establish right-to-work laws. The U.S. House passed the repeal, but the Senate failed to overcome a filibuster, and so 14(b) remained law. This cartoon was published on the day of the House vote. This version was sent to AFSCME President Jerry Wurf from Jim Patton, president of the National Farmers Union.&lt;/p&gt;
