In 1972, AFSCME created an Interim Committee on Sex Discrimination to address the issues of its female members. The AFSCME Women's Rights Committee arose out of this Interim Committee. This document is one of its products, a Sex Discrimination Checklist that it sent out to AFSCME's councils, locals, and members to apply to their own workplaces to determine whether sex discrimination existed and needed to be addressed. This item appears in the AFSCME Program Development Department Records, box 5, folder 9.
