(33643) Recruitment, Dutch, Stratford, Ontario, 1941

Dutchmen and volunteers sympathetic to the plight of the Netherlands train at a bootcamp set up in Stratford, Ontario.

The men were members of the "Prinses Irene Brigade," a mixed group of enlisted Dutch servicemen who escaped abroad prior to German occupation and emigrants from North and South America, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. The group is also colloquially known as the Dutch Legion or the Dutch Army.
