The collection of Dr. Cleo Moran reflects her eleven years involvement with the Commission on the Status of Women. President Keast appointed Dr. Moran to the Commission as a resource person in April 1971. President Wiliam R. Keast established the Commission on the Status of Women at Wayne State University in February of 1971. The Commission began to improve the role of women on campus through equity and equality in employment placement and promotion as well as to improve the dignity of women in many other areas of campus activities.
Elected secretary at the outset of the organization, she served the Commission through 1974 as well as a member of its numerous committees.
