Correspondence, minutes, reports, clippings, memoranda, speeches, resolutions, press releases, immigrant and refugee arrival lists, and miscellaneous materials relating to the Michigan Committee on Displaced Persons (1946-51), the Michigan Commission on Displaced Persons (1949-60), the Michigan Committee on Immigration (1951-64), wartime aliens and naturalized citizens (1940-47), refugee records (1953-65), and "Interpreter Releases" (1937-64). The materials were collected by the Michigan Commission on Displaced Persons and Refugees. Subjects include licensing of immigrant physicians; wartime aliens; the McCarran-Walter Act; and other legislation affecting immigrants and refugees. Among the correspondents are John Dingell, Paul Douglas, Homer Ferguson, Hubert Humphrey, Jacob Javits, Estes Kefauver, Herbert Lehman, Blair Moody, Roy Reuther, George Romney, Arthur Vandenberg, and G. Mennen Williams.
