Icie Macy Hoobler was a pioneer in the study of infant, child, and adolescent growth and nutrition. She conducted some of the first studies on mother's milk, metabolics of pregnant women, and the composition of cow's milk. Hoobler served as the director of chemical and biological research at the Nutrition Research Laboratory of the Merrill-Palmer Institute from 1923-1930. Her papers consist primarily of material relating to her research and professional activities.
