Carl Sandburg was a noted American author and poet who supported the civil rights movement and frequently contributed to the NAACP. The tape recordings, owned by Leo Orso, capture conversations, interviews, speeches and public appearances he made. The Reuther Library owns a copy of the index to the tapes, not the tapes themselves.
