(11660) Leadership Conference

“Over 60 AFSCME leaders attended the first annual AFSCME Conference in New York state. Officers and leaders from AFSCME Council 35, 37, 66, 82, and 1707 participated in the sessions at Cornell University. Classes in grievance handling, collective bargaining, political action and local union leadership skills were conducted by Cornell professors and AFSCME staff. It is reported that the enthusiasm of the participants was so great that mock negotiating sessions were intense enough to call in actual mediators.”
