Marshall A. Wheatley (1887-1980) joined the faculty of the Detroit Central High School in 1916 and rose to the rank of associate professor of physics at Wayne State University. He held positions on several committees: at various time he was the Secretary for the Liberal Arts and Science Committee, the Physics Department Secretary, Chairman for the Building Committee for a new Science Building, and a member of the Graduate Committee. He was also a member of Sigma Xi, Sigma Pi Sigma, and Kappa Mu Epsilon. He retired in 1958.
Materials in the Marshall A. Wheatley Papers reflect his involvement in many committees and honor societies. Included are committee meeting minutes, correspondence, Physics Department curricula and reports, and meetings and correspondence of the Wesley Foundation.
