Mr. Linville was elected president of the Teachers Union of New York City, and served as president and executive director until 1935. From 1931-34, he served as president of the American Federation of Teachers. The following year he was elected president of the New York Teachers Guild. Mr. Linville was also editor of the American Teacher. Correspondence, radio addresses, speeches, clippings, and printed material pertaining to the AFT, the Teachers Union of New York City, and the period of 1921-41 are covered. The collection also contains drafts of chapters for his book, Communists at Work.
