Mr. Kingery served in several offices for UAW Local 292 of the Kokomo, Indiana, Delco-Remy plant. In 1965 he served in the UAW International Education Department and was responsible for many UAW publications and educational programs as a strong advocate of continuing adult education. Beginning in the late 1950s, Mr. Kingery was also a member of the Kokomo city council and active in Indiana politics and local affairs.

Part I of these papers pertain mainly to his political activities and include correspondence and clippings. Correspondents include senators Vance Hartke and Birch Bayh. Part II is especially representative of his activities in the Education Deptartment from 1965-1974.
