




These files pertain to Mr. Dukes' service as assistant director of information for the President's Commission on Equal Employment Opportunity, and as a member of Vice-president Hubert Humphrey's staff (1964-68). The collection is particularly interesting on the role of blacks in the 1968 presidential campaign. Other subjects covered are the Youth Opportunity Program, Black Cabinet, and the black press and media. Correspondents include Edward Brooke, Ramsey Clark, Louis Martin, Jackie Robinson, Strom Thurmond, and Jesse Unruh.
