Wayne State 150th Panel Series: Organizing Auto Workers, Organizing their History: The UAW and the Walter P. Reuther Library at Wayne State University's Sesquicentennial
The history, legacy, and future of United Auto Workers (UAW) Union will be examined by a distinguished panel of speakers, including Marick Masters, Director of Labor@Wayne at Wayne State University; Mark Gaffney, Teamsters Local Union #214, Wayne State Board of Governors and former President of the Michigan AFL-CIO; UAW President or a UAW Representative; Dr. Steve Babson, retired WSU Labor Studies professor and labor activist; Gavin Strassel, United Automobile Workers Archivist, Wayne State University; and Cindy Estrada, UAW Vice President. In addition, Dr. Philip P. Mason, Distinguished Professor of History Emeritus and Founding Director of the Walter P. Reuther Library, will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The program, organized by the Center for Latina/o and Latin American Studies, runs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Reuther LIbrary atrium. For more information, please visit
