Reuther Library celebrates 50 years on campus!

Original architect rendering of the Walter P. Reuther Library

The Walter P. Reuther Library is proudly celebrating its 50th year on campus! Built in 1975, our building’s brutalist architecture and gleaming windows have been a beacon for researchers across the world, and we want to show off in style.

Join us as we kick off this week with an incredible event with Alan Reuther to celebrate his new book, Roy Reuther and the UAW: Fighting for Workers and Civil Rights. The event will take place on March 27th from 6-8 p.m. and will include a special guest appearance from UAW President Shawn Fain. You can RSVP for the event and find more information at go.wayne.edu/alanreuther.

Keep an eye on our website and our social media spaces as we dive into the history of the building, hear from researchers who have visited us, and highlight the incredible collections we’ve kept safe and sound!
