




As first president of United Auto Workers local 444 (Windsor, Ontario), Charles Brooks served eleven terms. He founded the first industrial credit union in Canada and served as President of the Canadian Council of the UAW and as President of the Cooperative Dwellings Association. The papers of Mr. Brooks reflect his active engagement in civic and community affairs and his work with the UAW.
