




Florence Cassidy became director of the Peoples of Detroit Project in 1967. The project sought to compile information about the basic institutions, leading organizations, cultural contributions, major interests, current needs, population changes and forecasts of future trends in Detroit's ethnic neighborhoods. The bulk of the papers in the International Institute: Florence Cassidy Collection document Detroit ethnic groups surveyed by the Peoples of Detroit Project.
