Franz E. Daniel was involved in the organizing efforts and political actions of several unions, such as the Amalgamated Clothing Workers, the Congress of International Organizations (CIO), and the AFL-CIO. He served as assistant to then CIO President, Walter Reuther, from 1954-1955. Prior to his union involvement, he was an organizer for the Socialist Party and during the later years of his 36 years of union service and into retirement, he again became involved in local politics.The papers of Mr. Daniel reflect his work with various union organizations, his family affairs, and his active involvement in community affairs.
