Day shift workers enter the Ford Rouge plant and are handed leaflets by UAW organizers who explain the union’s stand on the strike scheduled to start at noon, Dearborn, Michigan. Over 65,000 workers at two Ford plants answered the strike call after union and company officials came to no agreement over the union’s alleged “speedup” charge against the Ford officials.
