The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) was founded in 1921 as a union of flat janitors. Over the years it has grown in size and scope, now comprising three divisions: healthcare, property services, and public services. SEIU’s Secretary-Treasurer’s Office: Subject File Records document the everyday dealings of the Secretary Treasurer’s Office, including interactions with the United States and Canadian governments, unions, federations (particularly the AFL-CIO), and internal SEIU regional offices and members. Document formats found within the records primarily include correspondence, reports, and forms.
