The Al Barnes Photographs consist of 17 black and white negatives that document life in Northern Michigan during the late 19th-century. The negatives include scenes of local landmarks, both man-made and natural, agricultural labors at work in the farms of the Old Mission Peninsula, and portraits of children. Of particular note are negatives concerning the activities of local Native Americans.
