This collection contains papers from 1917-1973, primarily from 1958 through 1973. This society began with the organization of the Bio-Club of Detroit, which disbanded in 1920 and reorganized as the Society of the American Bacteriologists. In 1926 the organization evolved to the Michigan Branch of the Society of American Bacteriologists. In 1962, the name was changed to the Michigan Branch of the American Society for Microbiology.
