(263) Violence, Marta Rodriguez, Kern County Sheriff Department, 1973

Marta Rodriguez, a seventeen year old farm worker, is assaulted, handcuffed, arrested after the Kern County Sheriff Department breaks up a picket line at the Giumarra Ranch, 1973. Rodriguez spoke little English, and did not understand the deputies' commands. Nearly 130 picketers were arrested during this incident, many sustaining injuries.
