The International Affairs Department of the United Auto Workers coordinated the activity of its workers with free trade unions around the world. The department was directed by Victor Reuther from 1957-1972. Lewis Carliner was his assistant for most of that time. Their records reflect the activities of the department after it ceased to be a part of the Washington Office and became its own independent agency.Subjects include: Agency for International Development; IMF; International Confederation of Free Trade Unions.
