Emil Mazey's early work history consisted of much involvement in labor organizations, including president of the United Auto Workers Briggs Local. After WWII he became Secretary-Treasurer of the UAW until his retirement. He gave frequent speeches and radio addresses and had many opinions on topic of contemporary interest including civil rights, Watergate, and the nuclear arms race. His papers reflect his UAW involvement as well as his personal life.
