AFL-CIO President George Meany speaks with AFSCME President Jerry Wurf and Texas Congresswoman Barbara Jordan at the 1973 AFL-CIO Convention in Bal Harbour, Florida. Jordan delivered a famous speech the following year explaining why she voted to impeach President Nixon, and she addressed the Democratic National Convention in 1976.
