Dr. M.M. Quaife, O.W. Burke, Alvin E. Harley, and Clarence E. Day stand atop an excavation that shows artifacts from the French, English and American settlements of Detroit, Michigan. Amidst the ruble was found a bridge, a building foundation, crockery, pipes, iron nails, and glassware. The site was excavated for the development of the Veteran’s Memorial Building.
