Caption by photographer reads: "Gertude Wong, a 90-pound girl who is only 4 feet 9 inches tall, is among 135 Chinese workers employed in the Curtiss-Wright Helldiver airplane wing division in a Hudson Motor Car Co. plant in Detroit. The Chinese are excellent workers and are easily trained for industrial work. Some have risen to foreman and leader ratings at Hudson and will probably be on the assembly lines when automobile production is resumed. The Chinese girls employed at Hudson obtained special permission to wear aprons over their regulation slacks."
