A lion makes his way down Washington Ave. during a parade sponsored by Detroit's Chinatown merchants. The parade was a fundraiser to solicit aide for Chinese war refugees.
Photographer's note: "The colorful Lion Dance, to show the lion of China does not sleep but is actively fighting the foe, held the eyes of spectators. It has never been seen in Detroit before."
