This area of the Reuther's Web site currently encompasses approximately 300, fully transcribed, speeches delivered between 1965 and 1996 by American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President's Charlie Cogen, David Selden and Albert Shanker. New York State Education Committee
Shanker makes suggestions on how to improve education in New York and all over the country. He touches on topics of supporting more early childhood education, raising the minimum salary for beginning teachers, reaching out to youngsters to inspire them to become teachers and inspiring them to go to college.
