AFSCME President Jerry Wurf (right) accepts the National Urban League’s Equal Opportunity Day Award from National Urban League President Whitney Young. AFSCME received this award for its role in the successful 1968 sanitation workers’ strike in Memphis during which Martin Luther King was assassinated.
